Mary Jane Chaney, 80, of Indianapolis, died August 27, 2010. She was born January 19, 1930 in Indianapolis to the late Henry and Sada Robb. She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1946. She worked for many years with Fletcher National/Bank One in research and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her husband, Ray Chaney; children, Diann (Joe) Cary, Patricia (David) Setzler, Randy (Meg) Chaney, Janell (Dean) Glascock; brothers, Don (Jenny) Robb, Harold (Helen) Robb; sister, Patricia (Norman) Rohrer, 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were held on August 31 at First Church of the Nazarene with the burial at Washington Park East Cemetery. Ruby Gladys Gene Cline, 82, died August 26, 2010. She was born June 17, 1928 in Sumerset, Tenn. to the late Garland and Donie (O’Neal) Graves. Ruby is survived by her sons, Stephen D. Cline and Michael A. Cline; daughters, Carolyn D. Covington and Sarah L. Cline; sisters, Betty Lou Cline, Vangie Hammock, Patty Blankenship and Barbara Frye; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, David F. Cline; son, Larry D. Cline; sisters, Dorothy and Overlita; brothers, Earl, Bill and C. Graves; and grandson, James. James Robert “Bob” Crodian, 90, died August 30, 2010. He was born October 7, 1919 to the late Glen and Mary (Grider) Crodian. Bob was a graduate of Shortridge High School, and was a veteran of WWII, serving as a quarter master in the Pacific. He worked for 35 years at Eli Lilly. Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Bevin Crodian; daughters, Pamela Crodian-Miller and Kimberley Fox; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on September 2 at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., where friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service. He was born in Beech Grove to Dodge and Mary Davis. He is a U.S. Navy Veteran from WWII. Survivors include his seven children, Charles Jr. (Diana), Bob (Pam), Larry (Barbara), Brian (Debbi), Philip (Julie), Monica (Jerry) and Paula (Bob); 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were held August 30 at Holy Name Catholic Church with the burial at Calvary Cemetery. Linda C. Carrick Ferguson, 62, died August 25, 2010. She was born March 23, 1948 in Indianapolis to Joseph G. and Doris J. Phillips Carrick. Survivors include her husband, William W. Ferguson; daughter, Amber (Seth) Montague; son, Michael J. Ferguson; mother, Doris J. Carrick; sister, Ladonna (Jerry) Fox; and grandson, Sean Montague. She was on the Executive Board of I.B.E.W. and was a realitor with Carpenter. Betty Jewel (Everidge) Lambert Gregory, 76, died August 26, 2010. She was born March 14, 1934 in Hindman, Ky. to the late Isom and Mary J. (Johnson) Everidge. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her husband, Walter H. Gregory; sons, Frank A. She was born November 14, 1910 to the late Martin and Daisy (Parnell) Kritsch. She was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her sister, Francis Dietrich; many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson M. He was born December 4, 2008 to Brent and Melissa (McLaughlin) Kawanna. He is survived by his parents: his siblings, Makayla, Joshua, Jonathan and Haleigh; grandparents, Vicki (Bob) Dickinson, Stan Kawanna and Phil McLaughlin and great-grandmother, Bonnie Melton. She was born August 6, 1960 in Indianapolis to the late James Dean and Barbara Lee Simpson. She graduated from Southport High School in 1978. Survivors include her daughters, Kristine and Carly Morgan; stepdaughter, Brooke Morgan Hobbs; brothers, Jeff, David (Teri), Darryl (Daun) and Jason Simpson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Army Pvt. Caleb M. Bennett has graduated from the Field Artillery Firefinder Radar Operator Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Bennett is the son of Yvonne B. Bennett of Redwood Ct., Greenwood. The private is a 2009 graduate of Whiteland Community High School. Army National Guard Pvt. William G. Jackson has graduated from the Fire Support Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. The field artillery specialists serve in intelligence activities including target processing in field artillery, cannon battalions, division artillery, artillery and maneuver brigade and headquarters and fire support elements. Jackson is the son of Brenda J. Ruffing of E. Lakeshore Dr., Cedar Lake, and William B. Jackson of S. Peterman Rd., Greenwood. The private is a 2008 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School, Fishers. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Cory S. Sargent graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Cathleen Sargent of Butterfly Circle, Greenwood. Sargent is a 2006 graduate of Center Grove High School.

Josephine E. Teagardin Donohue, 84, died on August 23, 2010 in Beech Grove. She was born May 19, 1926 to the late Thomas H. and Adalaid Lauth Teagardin in Beech Grove, Ind. She was a long-time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and cooked for many years at the Latin School and at Sister’s Place Restaurant. Josephine was the wife of Joseph T. Donohue, Sr., who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Timothy (Sharon) Donohue, Jr., James F. (Teresa) Donohue and Kevin M. (Shawn) Donohue; daughter, Marsha Fecht; daughter-in-law, Susan Donohue; brother, Paul (Mary) Teagardin; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Thomas M. and John R. Donohue. Visitation will be held in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 950 Prospect St., on August 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on August 27 at 10:30 a.m. in the church. Bertha Mae Mendenhall, 101, of Beech Grove, died August 22, 2010. Bertha was born November 20, 1908 in Indianapolis to the late Francis and Florence Richardson. She is survived by her daughter, Ernestine Ludeman; sister, Zeta Price; brothers, Francis and Herman Richardson; grandson, Paul Mendenhall, Jr.; five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery.  Kenneth D. Oakley, 86, of Wanamaker, died Sunday, August 22, 2010. He was born April 11, 1924 in Greensburg, IN to Walter and Irene (Sharp) Oakley. Kenneth served in the U. S. Navy and Marines from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific. He married Rosemary Stockhuetter on June 7, 1947 in Greensburg. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Karl (Mary) Oakley of Hamilton, OH, Mark (Judy) Oakley of Indianapolis, and Earl (Linda) Oakley of Ft. Myers, FL; one daughter, Jane (Jim) Cameron of Indianapolis; one brother, Dyar (Dottie) Oakley of Greensburg; one sister, Vivian (Art) Fichmer of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Esther Oakley; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold Oakley. James F. “Slim Jim” Olsen 76, of Indianapolis, died August 17, 2010. Jim was born on February 6, 1934 in Bayonne, New Jersey to the late William and Margaret (Givens). He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Heyer) Olsen. He was a U.S. Army veteran and attended Rutgers University. Jim is survived by his best friend and companion, Diana Otto; daughters Beth (Peter) Schubert, Kim (Murph) Mahaffey, Meg Olsen, Jo (Dave) Marriner; siblings, Rita McDonald, Rev. Joseph W. “Joe” Tennant Sr. 61, Indianapolis, died Sunday August 15, 2010. He was born September 24, 1948 in Indianapolis to the late Alexander F. and Rosemary C. (Kleifgen) Tennant. Other survivors include his son, Joseph W.Tennant Jr.; daughters, Tammy Jo Tennant-Utley, Karey Ann (Dan) Havey, Kelly Clare Tennant; sister, Julie (Sonny) Eacret; and nine grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Kristine Tennant; and two brothers, Jerry A. and Jim Tennant. He was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Air Force Airman William T. Lott graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Thomas and Jennifer Lott of Blue Grass Parkway, Greenwood. He is a 2008 graduate of Greenwood Bible Baptist School. Army National Guard Col. Gregory W. Robinette has graduated from the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, Pa., and earned a master’s degree in strategic studies. The college is the Army’s senior educational institution. Robinette is an intelligence security officer with the Ohio Army National Guard assigned to the Joint Force Headquarters, at Columbus, Ohio. The colonel has served in the military for 28 years. He is the son of Ted and Marilyn Robinette of Narcissus Dr. Indianapolis, and father of Grace Robinette of Bowling Green, Ohio. He is a 1978 graduate of Perry Meridian High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in 1982 from Purdue University. In 2000 he earned his doctor of jurisprudence from the University of Toledo College of Law, Toledo, Ohio. Nathaniel P. Zimmerly has graduated from the Army ROTC Leader’s Training Course at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Kenneth D. and Mary Jo Zimmerly of West Stanley Lane, Greenwood. The cadet is a 2007 graduate of Center Grove High School.

Gladys Mae Gallagher, 74, died August 12, 2010. She was born in Indianapolis to the late Charles and Mary Catron in 1935. She worked for St. Francis Hospital for many years as a certified nurse and in orthopedics. Survivors include her three children, Thomas (Debbie) Gallagher, Deborah (Gary) Morgan and Theresa (Danny) Chowning; two sisters, Mary Noble and Jean (Joe) Miller; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her son, Richard Gallagher, Jr., preceded her in death. Services were held August 16 in New Crown Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Little and Sons Funeral Home, Beech Grove Chapel. Margaret H. Hancock, 94, of Greenwood, died August 12, 2010. A private service will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home in Greenwood. Sharon A. Neuhausel, 66, died August 14, 2010. She is the daughter of the late Donald and Ruth Ann Baldwin. Survivors include her sons, Harold Neuhausel and Tony Clark; brothers, Harold and Gerald Baldwin; sisters, Peggy Beaver, Donna Isenhower and Dora Baldwin; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Chalmer “Al” W. Bales, Jr., 75, of Greenwood, died July 27, 2010. He was born in Indianapolis to the late Chalmer W. Bales Sr. and Grace Bales. He was employed as a U.S. postal worker and retired after 31 years of service. He served in the Army from 1956-1959 and was stationed in Germany. Survivors include his wife, Vera Bales, two daughters, Loana (Jeff) Minor and Tania Bales; sister, Janice Grassi; five grandchildren, Daniela Snow, Malya Bales, Dustin (Shawna) Dannettelle, Javen Sigman and Jon Minor; and four greatgrandchildren. Services were held July 31 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Pamela D. Collins, 56, of Indianapolis, died July 31 at her home. She was born November 5, 1953 at Camp Atterbury to William and Adriena (Cox) Worland. Pam was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She married Dewey Collins on January 22, 1972 and he survives her.
