“Reading Adventures,” Center Grove Schools’ second annual literacy night, will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Pleasant Grove Elementary School, 5199 W. Fairview Rd. in Greenwood. It’s open to the public, and admission is free.

On the early morning of Oct. 12, Sergeant Kevin Wethington learned of a gentleman who was robbed and severely beaten on the Southeast District. Sergeant Wethington immediately established the suspect’s description by interviewing area residents and business owners about the crime.

Hundreds of local volunteers, non-profit organizations, senior communities and Walgreens stores are joining forces once again to brighten the holidays for thousands of forgotten seniors in central Indiana, including Johnson, Shelby and Morgan counties, through “Be a Santa to a Senior.” Sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care, the program provides gifts and companionship to isolated and lonely seniors.
