The annual meeting for the Greater Beech Grove Chamber of Commerce was held on Nov. 11, Veterans Day, at Valle Vista Golf and Conference Center. In recognition of Veterans Day, Butch Fennema, Gunnery Sgt. Andrew Clauser, U.S. Marines and U.S. Army Sgt. Iain Batchelder spoke to the group. The group spoke representing the “Past, Present and Future of Military Service.”

“Reading Adventures,” Center Grove Schools’ second annual literacy night, will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Pleasant Grove Elementary School, 5199 W. Fairview Rd. in Greenwood. It’s open to the public, and admission is free.

On the early morning of Oct. 12, Sergeant Kevin Wethington learned of a gentleman who was robbed and severely beaten on the Southeast District. Sergeant Wethington immediately established the suspect’s description by interviewing area residents and business owners about the crime.
