Published November 20th, 2008

In celebration of National School Bus Safety Week, elementary students in Perry Township have been recognized as winners in the district’s annual school bus safety poster contest.

The poster theme for this year’s School Bus Safety Week was “Stop on Red – Kids Ahead.”

“One of the best ways to raise the level of awareness of school bus safety in our community is through the implementation of a school bus safety program,” said Tina Tryon, MSD Perry Township Transportation Director.

“We were elated to have over 100 thought-provoking and creative posters submitted by our kids.”
Winners included Reagan Elliott and Kameron Gladish, Douglas MacArthur School; Skylynn Leggins, Rosa Parks; Cheyenne Coley, Winchester Village; Rachel Gray, Southport Elementary; and Juan and Bryan Rodriquez, Clinton Young.

Next year’s poster theme will be “Cross in View – It’s the Right Thing to Do!”
