New principal joins Nativity Catholic School

Published October 30th, 2008

Nativity Catholic School began the ’08-’09 school year with new leadership as Terri Rodriguez joined the faculty as principal.

Rodriguez comes to Nativity after numerous years serving as principal for other Indianapolis Catholic schools, including Holy Cross Central School and St. Philip Neri School. She also served as assistant principal for St. Simon the Apostle School. Prior to these positions, she was a teacher at St. Simon for nearly 20 years.

According to Rodriguez, she is very excited about expanding on the many opportunities that a Nativity education provides. “My goals include enhancing Nativity as an academically excellent school that is truly rooted in the Catholic Faith,” she said. “This includes mentoring teachers in utilizing instructional strategies that have proven to be most effective.”

One particularly important benefit that Nativity provides for students is smaller class sizes that enable more personalized, one-on-one education. Rodriguez added, “I want to make sure our children receive a quality, faith-based education in a safe and secure environment that facilitates learning.”

Nativity Catholic School is located in Franklin Township and serves more than 320 students in southeast Marion County from preschool through 8th grade. Nativity is accredited by the State of Indiana and the North Central Association, and has been named as an Exemplary School by the State of Indiana.
