Daniel Braun
Daniel Braun, age 66, Indianapolis, died on Aug. 1, 2012. He was born on Aug. 5, 1945 to the late John and Ellen Weber Braun in Beech Grove. Dan served proudly in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was a printer prior to retirement. He is survived by his wife, Sandra K. Springman Braun; daughter, Kimberly M. Tanner (James); son, Christopher Daniel Braun; grandchildren, Lindsey Billhymer and Daniel Billhymer; great-grandchild, Lukas Morin; brothers, John Braun (Nancy) and Joseph Braun (Mary Ann); and sister Barb May. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Kay Lyles. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Larry Janezic in Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Aug. 7. Memorial Contributions are encouraged to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were entrusted to Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services.
Juanita J (nee Cook) Doughty
Juanita J (nee Cook) Doughty, 70, Indianapolis, died Aug. 6, 2012. She was born on Jan. 1, 1942 in Bloomington, Ind. to the late Herbert and Nancy Cook. She is survived her fiancée, Jerry Dilllehay; brothers, Dale and Fred Cook; sons, Thomas and Richard Doughty; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Doughty; son, Daniel Doughty and daughter, Sherry Jean Doughty. Visitation will be held Aug. 9 from 4 – 8 p.m. at G.H. Herrmann East Street Funeral Home, 1505 S. East St., Indianapolis. Funeral Service will be conducted Aug. 10 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home, with the burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Carolyn (Carol) J. Milli Duncan
Carolyn (Carol) J. Milli Duncan, 57, Indianapolis, died Aug. 4 2012. She was born in Indianapolis on Dec. 8, 1954. She worked many years in the banking industry most recently for Regions Bank. She is survived by her husband, Calvin L. Duncan; sons, Chris and Greg (Kelly) Duncan; and grandchildren, Dakota and Karlie Duncan. One of nine, she is also survived by brothers, sisters, and many, many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on August 11, 11 a.m. at Woodland Baptist Church, 3200 S. East St. Her wishes included a luncheon party for family and friends immediately following the service in the church basement. She also wished for No Flowers. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to The Garfield Park Conservatory, Woodland Baptist Church, or a favorite charity of your choice.
Edward “Eddie” Durrett
Edward “Eddie” Durrett, 73, died Aug. 5, 2012. He was a resident of Indianapolis. He was born Aug. 24, 1930 in Indianapolis to the late Sam and Ella Mae (Richardson) Durrett. He is survived by his brothers, Wilbert, Charles and Ernest Durrett; sisters, Eileen Napier, Ruby Lee May, and Corrina Williams; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Chapel of the Chimes.
Kenneth W. Flannery
Kenneth W. Flannery, Indianapolis, 35, died July 21, 2012. He was born July 21, 1977 in Portsmouth Ohio to his parents, Bill and June Flannery. He is survived by his mother, June and her friend Richard; aunts, Alice, Mary, Margie; uncle Gene, and an uncle Walter who resides in Florida; three daughters of Indianapolis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will take place at the Salvation Army Church at 1337 S. Shelby St. in Fountain Square on Aug. 11th at 2 p.m.

Mary B. Flory, 83, Indianapolis, died July 31, 2012. She was born on May 11, 1929, daughter of the late Jesse A. and Margaret Sophia (Baumer) Stevens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Flory. She is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn and son-in-law, Kevin Hanna; tand wo grandchildren, Kyle and Lyndsey Hanna. Joann “Jodie” K. Graham
Joann “Jodie” K. Graham, 66, Indianapolis, died Aug. 5, 2012. She was born on Aug. 13, 1945 to the late Norville H. Graham and Mary Ann Harity Hayes in Indianapolis. Jodi was formerly employed by Goodwill Industries and was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grade School. She is survived by her aunt, Catherine (Kate) Manning and Theresa Pritchard; brothers, Patrick and Michael Graham; sisters, Mary Beth Graham and Jana Marie Hayes; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, John Hayes; grandmother, Agnes Manning; uncles, Bernard (Bud) Harity, James Manning, Patrick Harity and Charles Pritchard; aunt, Agnes Harity; and nephew, Donald Aaron. Jodi believed in living life and having fun. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Aug. 9 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may go to the American Cancer Society. Kenneth Edward Hale, 63, Indianapolis, died Aug. 3, 2012. He was born Jan. 23, 1949 to the late Norris Vernon and Alma Jane Hale. Survivors include his siblings, Richard (Becky) Hale, Sylvia “Susie” Hale, Cheryl Goode and Rhonda (Greg) Morgan; two nephews, Rich Hale, Zach Smith; and niece, Tiffany Smith. Rose Lee Hamilton, 67, Indianapolis, died July 30, 2012. She was born on Jan. 21, 1945 to the late James S. and Mary Anne (Poteet) Hardcastle. She is survived by her sons, Ron, James, and Larry Hamilton; daughter, Cherie Hamilton; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Frank, Daniel, and Paul Hardcastle. Barbara J. Oliver Hanley
Barbara J. Oliver Hanley, 83, Indianapolis, died Aug. 6, 2012. She was born Nove. 26, 1928 in Indianapolis. A member of the Fraternal Order of Police, she was a retired police officer with the Indianapolis Police Department. She is survived by her son, Daniel A. Geneva (Meece) Naylor
Geneva (Meece) Naylor, 86, formerly of Fountain Square, died Aug. 3, 2012. She was born Jan. 19, 1926 in Somerset, Ky. to the late James Elmer and Mary Martha (Desmey) Meece. She retired from RCA after 38 years of service. She was preceded in death by three siblings, James and Parker Meece and Lucille Kelso. She married Robert Naylor on Dec. 17, 1943. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2002. She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy (Daniel) Ellison, Diana (Ronald) Edlin, and Denise (Timothy) Buitron; nine grandchildren, Kim (Robert) Stainbrook, Robert (Janet) and Kevin (Linda) Kelly, Greg (Tina) and Von Ellison, Joseph, James (Karen) and William (Rebecca) Edlin, and April (Brandon Damron) Butcher; 17 great-grandchildren, Ashley (Jack) Balmer, Korey (Megan) Stainbrook, Shane (Jennifer) Chaney, Matthew, Austin (Paige) and Dalton Kelly, Cody Derado, Karleigh, Camryn and Katie Kelly, Kelsey Hauk, Tyler Buck, Tyler and Trevor Edlin, Kaleigh and Jordan Edlin, and James Robert Damron; and five great-great-grandchildren, Chase, Grace, Brailee, Tyler and Jasper. Funeral services were held Aug. 7 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, with the burial in Floral Park Cemetery.
Jack Odell Spaulding
Jack Odell Spaulding, 83, Indianapolis, died Aug. 2, 2012. He was born Aug. 18, 1928 in Indianapolis to the late Leroy and Mary Spaulding. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Jack retired from Conrail as a freight car repair foreman. He is survived by his children, Sandi Murray, Jack Spaulding, Jr., and Jeff Spaulding; sister, Ester Womack; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and dear friends, Sharon Ryan and family. The funeral service was held Aug. 6 at Little & Sons Funeral Home, with the burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
