One Child birthed Christmas. Now at Christmas time, the excitement of the season is most visible in the eyes of a child. Hope abounds… at least for many children.
But every year, some children will not let themselves hope to find a present under the tree. Life for their family has been economically harsh. There will be no presents.
Applying for help this year are 196 families with a total of 491 children. At press time, the resources are in place to help 282 children from 108 families. That leaves 209 children from 88 families left to be helped.
The Southside Times is partnering with Servant’s Heart along with the Beech Grove Public Library and the Beech Grove fire stations to serve as drop off sites for unwrapped gifts for children ages 0 to 13. The Southside Times office can also accept financial donations and will issue a tax deductible receipt on behalf of Servant’s Heart.
Cash, checks or unwrapped gifts for children ages 0 to 13 – The Southside Times newspaper office, 301 Main Street, Beech Grove;
