WISH-TV and parent company LIN TV Corp. have granted rebroadcasting rights to Bright House Networks, a deal that will return local and network CBS programming – including Indianapolis Colts games – to the TV sets of more than 125,000 Bright House Networks customers in central Indiana. Heartland Community Bank has completed the purchase of the vacant banking office at 215 N. U.S. 31 in New Whiteland. The office is being renovated, and plans are to have it opened before the end of the year. Charlana Fenwick has been named the Branch Manager. Martha McGaha will be the Assistant Branch Manager. Nikki Schlenz, Julie Skinner, Molly Vance and Nita Louzon are the other members of the staff. Heartland Community Bank will make this a full service bank office with a drive-up ATM and Safe Deposit boxes.

On Oct. 3, 2008, Speaker of the U.S. House Nancy Pelosi stated, “That was then, this is now, this is the future,” in reference to passage of the $835 billion investment bank bail-out bill. This is just one of many bailouts approved over the last few years, along with other abuses of our tax dollar with no regard for public opinion.
I’ve been thinking about some of the interaction I’ve had with cops over the years – almost all of it good, although I didn’t always know it at the time.
Take my first (and only) speeding ticket. I got that in 1972, when LaGrange County Sheriff Robert Floring caught me doing my customary 63 miles per hour in the 30-miles-per-hour zone about a half-mile from our home in Brighton, Ind.

Over the past few weeks, the weather in Indiana has taken a turn for the worse.
So has the Colts’ season.
