To keep music in their lives, many Hoosier musicians think they have two choices; either schedule weekend gigs around a fulltime job that pays the bills or move to Nashville, Tenn., with the hope of hitting the big time.
For Southsider, Steve Jeffris, neither of those choices was necessary.

After generous donations and six months of volunteer labor, All Saints Field saw its first action ever Sept. 22.
Football/soccer field is the product of a collaborative effort between Our Lady of the Greenwood and St. Francis and Clare parishes. Terry A. Shaw, 47, has been named the first executive director of the newly organized Greater Beech Grove Chamber of Commerce.
A business owner for 17 years, she is not a newcomer to the Beech Grove business community. For the past four years, she was vice president and secretary of the chamber predecessor, Greater Beech Grove Business Association.
Her job now is to promote the Beech Grove business community. She plans to do it with programs, seminars and workshops that will unify area businesses. Members are encouraged to give first consideration to fellow chamber members when buying goods, supplies and services.

No one comes forward to save this young woman from herself.
