At Hornet Park Elementary in Beech Grove, Principal Mike Davis slept the entire night, April 19, on the roof of the elementary school, but it was all for charity. The principal challenged the kids before Spring Break that if they raised $2,500 he would sleep on the roof. The money was collected by each class in jar wars. Each day was designated by a certain coin the students could bring into fill the jars. Classes were also rewarded for winning that day’s jar wars with extra recess time. The money raised for the challenge will go to Riley Hospital for kids.
